Christmas around the world_GREECE

Looking for a Christmas lesson that feels a little different this year?

In Greece, children traditionally go from door to door on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve singing carols, often accompanied by a small triangle. This season I'd love to bring that tradition into your music room.

I've put together "Greek Traditional Carols for Christmas and New Year", a ready-to-use resource for elementary and middle school music classes.

It's more than simply learning to play the carols; it's about learning the history and traditions around the celebrations in Greece:

- 2 easy instrumental Greek carols (a Christmas carol and a New Year carol), with scores for melody and chords and simple accompaniments for small percussion (you don't need to learn the words in Greek, just enjoy the music!)

 - Play-along videos for metallophone

- A short cultural presentation about Greek holiday customs

- Coloring pages, worksheets and reflection pages where students compare their own winter traditions with Greek ones,

It works for music lessons, cross-curricular units and sub plans, and it's inclusive for students of all backgrounds.

Find it here

If you use it with your students, I'd really appreciate a short review on TPT. It helps other teachers find it, and I read every one.

Warm wishes from Greece,
Chrysi
