6-7 game in the classroom

Image
6-7 is a trend among children, so let's try a game about it! The initial game is played like this: children stand in a circle and start counting τα παιδιά from 1-7: one, two, three, four, five,  six ,  seven . Those two who say 6 and 7 play Rock-Paper-Scissor. The winner stays in the circle, the other sits down.   Let's transform it to a music game:  Option 1: We sing the notes from Do to Ti : Do, Re, Mi, Fa, So, La, Ti. La and Ti are 6-7. Children who sing La and Ti play  Rock-Paper-Scissor to see who stays in the circle.    Option 2: I created a short song with 7 notes. Each child sings one syllable. The last 2 syllables are 6-7. You may create your own song with 7 notes choosing the notes you want to practice with yo...

My 6th grade students invented the story and I added the challenges.  I created 2 of the challenges (the 1st and the last), 2 challenges are games from Dr Musik and 1 is a video from Youtube.  The images were created in ChatGPT and the presentation in Canva and Google Slides. I'd love any feedback, comments and suggestions! Enjoy! Chrysi

Image
Look at the video to learn more about the resource Presentation and Worksheets to introduce Musical Forms to children from K-3. Since forms are created when combining same, similar and contrasting ideas, its very important for everyone to have this crucial ability. Movement and play are very important in learning at these ages. Young children have to move and play listening to music and aurally recognise the changes or the repetitions between the parts of a musical work, even without knowing anything about forms and any other terminology. This has to become an essential part of our music lesson.  Adding to the experiential way to learn about forms, the 28 Worksheets deepen the understanding with ...
